Unread message count

I seem to have a problem with keeping the correct count of unread 
messages in at least one newgroup (this one.)  n.p.m.mail-news is the 
last folder in my list.  When refreshing, it updates to the correct 
number of unread messages, but when reading, the count goes to 20 more 
than the actual count.

Has anyone else seen this behavior?
