messages that won't delete

Hi,

Messages continually reappearin my messenger inbox, no matter how many 
times I delete them. This happens under both NS 6.1 and Mozilla 0.9.3. I 
can't seem to identify a catalyst for this situation either. It just 
sometimes happen after I quit the application, and sometimes happens 
after my PC crashes.  Copies of these messages exist in another folder. 
This doesn't cause any problems, it's just annoying.

Any clues as to how to solve this?
