HTML mail as default

I suppose this topic has been thoroughly discussed but I couldn't
find much when I ran a quick search.

I realized that Mozilla 0.9.3 was set up to send HTML mail by
default. I'm fairly annoyed at all the Outlook users sending HTML
mail - multipart/alternative really - without even knowing it.

I think Mozilla should ship with plain text mail as default and
those who need HTML mail (who are they?) can activate it.

IMHO HTML mail is, in most cases, a terrible waste of bandwidth.
