Howdy,

I would probably try to look for/file a bug on this, but I really don't
know the correct terminology...

I read news.admin.net-abuse.email via newsguy. This newsgroup tends to
attract a lot of netnews "abuse", but fortunately newsguy does a great
job of filtering most of it out (yea).

This is manifested in Mozilla by showing a large number of unread
messages for the newsgroup when the news server is opened, but when the
group nanae is selected only the "good" messages show up and the number
of unread messages goes way down. So far all is normal.

However, there is quite a long delay delay between the time the group is
selected and the messages and new unread number showing up. Typically in
excess of 5 seconds or so. And furthermore, there is no sign of
activity, not even the red moving Mozilla. It appears that the
application is dead, but it is not.

Other newsgroups behave normally.
