FOLLOW-UP: I've created a new profile. If I move a folder structure (name,name.sdf,name.msf) to the new Local directory I get what appears to be the right stuff. However, if I try to open anything I get a blank message pane and the summary display "corrects" itself to show no messages. I've deleted the .msf files and they get re-build but the rebuilt summary still shows NO messages: I cannot (apparently) get the existing mbx file read into the new .msf. Now I still have all my mlist archive but I cannot read *any* of it! -- David A. Cobb, Software Engineer, Public Access Advocate, All around nice guy.
