Preserving mail over system rebuild

Hi

I want to ditch MS outlook express and use the Mozilla mail client.  I
have been using it no problems but now have to re-install windows and
want to preserve (backup and restore) the mail I have.  How do I do
this? W2K Moz 0.9.5.
