I like the extra column. Messing with the subject line is a bad idea.
Add the ability to reorder the Thread pane, or at least put the
total column close to the subject instead of the end of the line.
I'd like to see It in the 1st or 2nd column, near the thread
heirarchy or expand/collapse buttons.
Add totals for sub threads.
Add the tree view for threads, so sub-threads can
be collapsed.
Include this in mail, not just news.
