how to import IE favorites?

i once erase all imported IE favorites. Now i want to import them but i 
dont know how to do.
i tried manage bookmarks -> File -> import bookmarks
then i go to windows/favorites directory. but nothing to do there.
i also dont see an html IE bookmark file or stg around. i am not 
familiar with IE.
can anyone help ?
