In the preferences tab for signing and encryption:

  - Would it be better if the "Digitally Sign Messages" option was at
the top of the list of options?

  - Could we not fold the message encryption settings into all of the
security warnings (like "warn before sending data to a web site without
SSL")? As long as the SEND button clearly indicates whether the message
will be sent securely on not (with the lock on the send button) surely
we don't need the "Always (send is disabled if certificates are not
available for all recipients)" option? The user will see if it is secure
before sending it.

So settings would look like (x means checkbox default ON, o means
checkbox default OFF):

   o Digitally Sign Messages
     Use this personal certificate:
         [ ] Select...

   o Try to Encrypt Messages
o Warn if message cannot be encrypted (pops up dialog on send)
     o Use separate Encryption Certificate
         [ ] Select...

Cheers,
Mark
