Password

Using Netscape4.7 with Win98 on a PC. When I ask to see Newsgroups or
try to send e-mail it will ask me for user name and password. I never
was asked to do this before so I must have hit a button I should'nt
have.
How can I access news and mail without having to enter
username/password?.
