Client Speed Comparisons

Hi all -

This page, "Client Speed Comparisons" (yes, the name is 
less-than-stellar), has been published to cvs.mozilla.org.   It is 
linked off of the performance page, 
http://www.mozilla.org/mailnews/performance and will be updated when needed.

Currently, it is not finished (see the 2 POP operations I haven't 
completed testing on yet).

  • All test results are in seconds and done with a stopwatch, error rate of ± 1 second.

    Search subfolders (and server, if IMAP account), subject contains a non-sensical string, 'abracadabra' (to generate 0 results), or subject contains '10 hits' (to generate 10 results, I placed 10 identical messages with '10 hits' as the subject in the local/IMAP folder).
