What I've noticed is that some prefs in the prefs.js file seem to go to
the default (?), so I set them manualy and copied them to my user.js
file like so:

user_pref("mail.biff.play_sound", true);
user_pref("mail.collect_email_address_incoming", true);
user_pref("mail.collect_email_address_outgoing", true);
user_pref("mail.enable_autocomplete", true);
user_pref("mail.collect_email_address_enable_size_limit", true);
After exitting Moz (incl. turbo) and reviewing the prefs.js and user.js
they were deleted from the prefs.js but stayed the way they should be in
the user.js and so this build (I'm using 2001120808 on w2k) works for
me. I know it is not the way it should be but with the "work around" I
can use the excelent Labels feature. Maybe you can even copy the
prefs.js to user.js, but I haven't tried this.
