Help needed on bugs in this query.   We're looking for help in determining,  if there are any dups among these bugs, if not are these bugs still reproducible with current nightly builds?  If reproducible, please note it as a comment in the bug as to which build you last duplicated it with.
Thanks for any help you can provide.  If you plan on helping, if you wouldn't mind letting me know, then I can get an idea on how long this might take.   We will  be working off a query that has currently logged bugs or older bugs that have had comments within the last 3 months,  they will need the same review.

We should try to get the community QA to help on this first to clear out
the duplicates and worksforme. It may be easier to start there. We can
create links to the bugs where you are QA contact, untargeted, sorted by
bug number. For the older bugs which are not enhancements, we can see
right off if the bug is old or not and then close out. This way, we
can try to get some off the plate with some help by other folks outside
of the mail QA team.

I ran a query for: mail/news, new, assigned, untargeted, per QA
individual in Mailnews:

Esther=706
Laurel=330
Ninoschka=283
Stephen=269
Sheela=221
Karen=161
Olga=93
gchan=33
yulian=17
trix=6

around 200 assigned to various others inclucing pmock (21), fenella
(4), gbush (5), sujay (2), lchiang (92), only a few assigned to:
mscott, sspitzer, zach, ji, marina, moimoi.

We can ask individuals who have 200+ bugs to spend 1 full day (no
interruptions) working on these bugs to look for: First-duplicates,
Second-Worksforme, Third-need info to reproduce. After 1 day we
should have a better idea of how long it will take to get through all
of them (keep in mind new bugs will be coming in as these are getting
the once over). Each person should have a good idea about their own
duplicates, hopefully that session will go pretty fast. I will need
to go over pmock, fenella & lchia

ng bugs to see who to assign them too.
Is this what you had in mind for grouping up the bugs to be looked at.

In talking with Scott, we identified that there are a lot of
mail/news bugs (pre-mozilla 0.9.4 / Netscape 6.2) which need to be
"cleaned up" (ie. identified as duplicates, marked "worksforme",
etc). I thought that trying to coordinate an effort and tie this to
"bug day" which mozilla.org promotes may help start / focus this.
Asa - how can we get this on a "bug day" agenda?
Paul/Esther - we may want to coordinate this by grouping different
bug numbers and looking at bugs which are: new, assigned, and
untargetted where the bugs are assigned to members of Scott's team.

What do you think?
