I've recently switched to using Mozilla for all my newsgroup reading
(don't trust it with my mail yet :), and it's pleasing to see mailnews
has come a long way since I last used it.

However, I use plaintext to compose emails, and I'm having heaps of
troubles with quoting, and what I think is 'flowed' emails? I never
want to see the '|' quoting bars and instead just see the standard '>'
that everyone else sees.

I have set the pref:

user_pref("mail.quoted_graphical", false);

...which solves half my problems. However, if I view a post I have made
to a newsgroup, it comes up with the bars again (I assume because
Mozilla has flagged it 'flowed' in the headers).

Also, it's inserting blank lines after quotes.. ie:

 > quoted part
 > here

My reply with 2 blank lines above it instead of 1 like I composed it to be.

I have looked up a few bugs on these issues, and nothing really seems to
be happening about it. Have I missed a hidden pref, or is there some
other way to solve these issues?

Thanks,

Phil
