Hm? Both in 4.x and Mozilla, for each mail folder you have two files:
* one without an extension, which contains your mails in the "mailbox"
format (sort of plain text)
* one file with the extension snm (4.x) or msf (Mozilla), which
contains the state info.
The first file can be exchanged freely between both versions (and even
be read and edited in a simple plain text editor). The second one can be
missing when starting 4.x or Mozilla and will be created automatically.
