Bug #118417 which I filed 3 days ago might help you (it is an enhancement). What I propose is that you can select the to: field as an optional message list column. Outlook Express allows this and it is a feature that I think should be trivial to implement (all message headers need to be parsed anyway to get the subject, sender, date - why not grab the to: address while we are at it and let the user display it if he/she wants to?)
