Hi Everyone,

I've been using Netscape since v3.x and recommend it to all my clients.
I'm about to move to ver 6.2.1 but I'd like to clear up something first.

It seems that ver 6.2 likeS to bury the mail folders (c:\documents and
settings\<user>\application\mozilla\... under w2k, and
c:\winnt\profiles\applic.... under NT4)
where most users can never find it to backup. I've moved them to a
simpler, (always on a data partition)
d:\my documents\netscape\profiles\<my name>\.... this is fine, but there
seems to be a random subfolder (something like <profilename>\<randon
string.slt>\mail

Is there a way to change it or make is simpler? Any reason for the
wierd name in mid pathname?

The reason I ask is that I have a client who wants to keep all his data
on a server and use the 'offline folder' option of W2K and XP to access
the data and sync while on the road .... BUT... he also has a desktop so
we'd like to have TWO stations reference the same data on the server but
I'm not sure how to specify where the mail and news folders should go.

I can install the first copy of v6.2.1and let it create the random
subfolder on the server, but how do I get the second PC to point to the
same place to reference the same data (of course this wouldn't happen at
the same time).

Also, when I create a new mail account in the same profile, v6.2 tries
to point to the c:\documents and settings\<user>\... folder and I have
to manually move the files over to the d: partition and override
settings for location where I'd like to store the files. Is there a
simpler way?

Thanks
Richard
