I'm trying very hard to move from Outlook Express mail client to Netscape.
I set up Netscape with the appropriate parameters and can send and receive
mail with no problem. Then, I go to Norton Antivirus and configure it to
check incoming emails for viruses. It plugs the name pop3.norton.antivirus
into the incoming mail server name, and says protection is enabled. Now,
when I go to Netscape and try to open the mail, I get a Netscape error
message that says: "An error occurred while sending your user name to the
mail server. You should contact the administrator for this server or try
again later. " It would be nice if I could find out just what the error is.
Can anyone tell me how to solve this, or at least trace the information flow
so I can see what the problem might be?

One unusual thing involving my user name: Thanks to the wisdom of the
Earthlink folks, my user name is of this format - [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I suspect that might be causing me a problem, but the same user name works
fine when I disable Norton or when I use it from Outlook Express.
