How to wrap outgoing news posts?

I'm using mozilla 0.9.7 on Windows 98. When I compose a message to a 
newsgroup, the text wraps in the compose window. But when I read the 
message after it's been posted, it doesn't wrap. Other newsreaders show 
it wrapped. What's going on?
