Mail Notification Icon in 0.9.8

Hi,

Is it normal that the mail notification icon, which appeared in one of 
the nightly builds between 0.9.7 and 0.9.8, is now gone in the 0.9.8 
release? (I am on Windows 2000 SP2)

This is pretty useful since I am using a virtual desktop.
