We use NS 4.7, receive LOTS of mail and we must occasionally archive it
to reduce the bloat.

I have been archiving the mail by selecting everything under the
...Netscape/Users directory and burning it to a CD. HOWEVER, when
attempting to view archived mail by changing the "Local mail directory"
pointer to the mail folder on the CD, some of the folders cannot be
accessed. Those that I can't access give me the warning "Can't open
<foldername> You may not have permission to write to this file. Check
the permissions and try again"

Any ideas why only some of the folders are accessible when burned to a
CD? Any idea how I can rectify the problem or is there a better and
more appropriate method of archiving that will allow me to access
everything? Thanks for any ideas that may occur.

Paul
