OK, the love affair is over! I was ecstatic when the watched thread icon was finally introduced, but there is still room for improvement.
1. When I'm not in threaded mode, I still want to see the icon next to messages that are part of a watched thread. 2. If someone has started a new thread, the icon does not appear unless there are replies to the original post (I like to mark a thread as watched before I reply to it). 3. Still no way to show only watched threads (just watched threads with unread, which doesn't seem to work properly, anyway, as it shows some threads without new messages). 4. Since I can't see the icon when I search the subject line, it would be nice to have a way to mark the thread as watched. [w] is a toggle, so it's possible that I will unmark the thread (say, after searching for messages where I am the sender). [Shift]+[w] would be a nice way to mark a thread as read, without toggling it. 5. knode has an excellent feature that shows threads that contain my posts (based on e-mail address). This would be a nice addition to mozilla's news reader. 6. I don't know if any news reader has this option, but it would be nice to have auto-watch, where you could create a list of strings, and any thread that has one of the strings in its subject or sender would be automatically watched.
