A little more specific please, seems to be working ok here. I assume

Yes, quick search (a fav feature). OK: I type "S" it turns blue and when
I type "u", all that is left is that "u", I type "b" and all that is
left is "b"...and so on.  I can work around by using the right arrow key
to preserve what has been typed after every single letter is entered.

You're typing too slow is the problem. You type an "S" and it looks for
"S" before you can type the " u ", therefore it's finished looking for S
and now looking for u ... Type a little faster to be "ahead" of the
search motor !! :-D
