To summerize: At his point it looks like all of the blocking bugs that 
prevented this in the first place are resolved.

Which seems to give pointers to resolve much of the meat around getting 
this feature in.

I'm now digging a bit deeper into GPG to see what it would take on that 
side to create a plugin but first a look at http://enigmail.mozdev.org/
