Thanks, but not quite the same functionality as Catch Up. Whenever I subscribe to a newsgroup, Mozilla wants to download all the messages (sometimes 50000+) before I can mark them read. I can set the preferences to limit the download to 500, but then I get the *oldest* 500 rather than the newest 500, which is what I want. I was hoping there was Catch Up capability to set the reader to the highest known message number. Looks like it's either download all the messages, or manually go into the newsrc file and fiddle with the message numbers.
