I have 2,300 messages in my IMAP inbox. The recent messages work fine.
Messages in November 2001 just show up "blank" when I open them (the
header appears, but no message). Some older messages show up, ugly stuff
including raw and verbose headers appears at the top of the message
body, such as:

[TOP OF MESSAGE BODY AS IT APPEARS IN MOZILLA MESSAGE WINDOW]:
------=_NextPart_000_003C_01C108E3.EA085EA0--

>From - Wed Dec 12 01:33:21 2001
X-Mozilla-Status: 0001
X-Mozilla-Status2: 00000000
X-Sieve: cmu-sieve 1.3
[etc.]

Some other messages that are HTML mail have other garbage appearing as
the message body, such as:

<P>
<CENTER>
[other HTML from an attached Web page that someone sent me using the 'Send Page'
feature]

I have not been able to determine a rhyme or reason to the problem. It's
not like everything prior to message X fails and everything after
message X works, although perhaps there is a pattern I haven't figured
out yet. I am trying to determine if the problem is some corruption in
my IMAP folder itself, or in Mozilla. FWIW, I don't have any problems
with any of these messages in Communicator 4.x.

Two questions: 1) is there any known bug # tracking something that may
be causing this sort of behavior? 2) are there any tools publicly
available that i could point to my IMAP folder to check it for
validity/corruption? We run Cyrus. Thanks,
-angus
