I use IMAP, and download copies of email for offline use. These are stored under the ImapMail directory. I noticed that the INBOX file gets constantly larger, even if I delete a lot of the messages and compact the folder. The server folder is compacted, but nothing good seems to happen to the local copy.
I can delete the inbox and inbox.msf files, and they can be reconstructed easily by Mozilla by downloading all the messages again. This works well (and I've seen it cut the size of the local file from 45MB to 11MB). Is there a way to make Mozilla compact that file itself? I'll monitor the newsgroup for replies, or send personal stuff to the From address minus the remove_ part. Thanks, Mark
