A:" imap does work, but it is buggy"
www.myrealbox.com which is from novell doesn't work 100% with mozilla
coz of bugs in mozilla, which is a shame as it one of the few
free imap
service providers on the web ."
Well, I'm glad it isn't just my setup that has the MyRealBox
problems. I find I have to close and reopen to make new incoming mail
show. I already replied in the general board that the FastMail bulletin
board has plenty of discussion about making Mozilla work with that
service. Clearly, lots of people have it working.
You can see my e-mail address above, and this free service works
perfectly in MozMail IMAP. Problem is that all connections are slow.
Quite fast, though there's the need to use an alternative outgoing SMTP
server, is www.arabia.com . You get a 10mb box with that domain and a
second 10mb with another domain name from a list.
One nice thing about MozMail is that the mail preferences setting
is readily reached. If you're told the SMTP server ignored you, just go
into it and change it. I've noticed free SMTP servers periodically try
to require log-in and passwords, but don't persist for long.
I don't think one should keep using POP. I wonder why Mozilla
cannot get a bit of help from MyRealBox/Novell. For those occasions
when one needs WebMail, the interface there is by far the most appealing
I've seen.
