I know it was/is the base of Netscape 6 syncing with Netscape's webmail address book and maybe the AOL address book and buddy list. IIRC, they used HTTP together with some super-secret proprietary stuff, which is one reason, why it hasn't been checked into mozilla.org's CVS. I have only briefly looked at the interfaces in the CVS. That's all I know. (I hope, I didn't give out anything confidental.) Ben
