I know perfectly that : and the source, when displayed (*) shows both 
time and date.
But I did'nt refer to message source (*), only to message header.

Header in short display mode DOES'NT show the date, just the time (in
extended mode it shows both time AND date).

But I still don't know whether it is a bug or a feature ...;-)

(*) as far as "message source" is concerned, I recall that I  have
submitted a bug : message source is not displayed for newsgroups
messages read off-line (conversely it works for mail and drafts, in
both on or off-line mode).
