I can't say for sure what the cause might be, but in cases where I've had this happen, I have had to: Go through the process of setting up the account, providing exactly the same info as before with respect to mail server, etc. Then, go back to "View Settings for this Account". In the "Server Settings" section, edit the "local directory" path/filename to point to the correct/previous filename. For example: As you are re-creating an account like: mail.mymainserver.com, you'll note that because it already exists, a "1" is appended to it. When you go to the local directory path, just "take off" the appended "1", so that it reflects the path/name of the *original* account. Then, shut down Mozilla, re-start, and all of your folders and messages should be back. It's then safe to delete the "1" file from your hard drive that you had to create. Check the dates, make sure you're deleting the right one. Or, just leave it there, as it won't hurt anything.
