Putting the user groups on the secure server is a very short sighted attitude. I, for one, don't want to have to play with my news server settings just to access those groups. I want somewhere public and easily accessible to everybody for the users. If the developers want somewhere private then send them to the secure server where they won't be bothered by anyone.
