i'm seeing the same thing: see my thread a few lines up from yours

i click the link to subscribe to
netscape.public.mozilla.webtools
Mozilla pops up a box and ask me if i want to subscribe. I'm already
subscribed to other mozilla groups, so i don't change server settings.
The webtools group shows up in the mail window, tells me there are
8540 new messages. But none of those is downloaded/preview/shown. I do
the same trick with Outlook Express and it nicely shows me 300 messages.
I tried GET NEXT 500 messages etc. but still Moz mails shows me no
postings. Marking all messages as read doesn't help either, cause next
time i start Mozilla it still tells me there are 8540 new messages.
Is this a bug? I mean, it is supposed to show me the older postings,
right?
