No RFC and no formal specification -- as for a list of formatting features, for what you're talking about, that's it: bold, italic, underline. There's spoiler chars but that's a bit different. BTW -- this newsreader (Thoth) has the same ability (although it only does it on single words, i.e. no spaces) -- J.B. Moreno
