On 10 Jul 2002, it is alleged that Steve Davidson sauntered in to
netscape.public.mozilla.mail-news and loudly proclaimed:

No. The mail window has to be open. Some have said that Mail/News needs to
have been launched at least once during the session, but I've never seen
that work.

This and other user questions are probably best posted to one of the NGs
below before being brought to these groups, which are actually intended for
developer discussion.

Also, it would be good form *not* to post to these groups *in addition to*
the user groups; I've been seeing a fair amount of that happening, and it's
problematic, especially in those cases in which no follow-up has been set:
you get discussion of a question happening in several places, some of which
are more appropriate than others. . . .

/b.
