netscape.public.mozilla.mail-news and loudly proclaimed:

Make sure you've exited Mozilla *completely*, including Quick Launch.

Note your user data should still be there, but you might have to do a bit of 
tinkering to get things restored.

The user groups you mentioned are listed below.

If it makes you feel any better, it's not quite as dire as it seems; 
somewhat tedious, perhaps, in the performing, but you should be able to get 
your mail and NGs back. :-)
