sorry for the spam. i'm tweaking the mail->news gateway so it uses the same whitelist mechanism as the mailing lists. When all the groups are set up this way it will fix the problem where you can't cross-post via mail. fyi, the whitelist mechanism has changed. All nntp posts will now be delivered to the mailing list whether the sender is on the whitelist or not. This means that list subscribers should see exactly the same posts as in the newsgroup. Additionally, subscribing to a newsgroup automatically adds you to the whitelist so you should no longer need to mail the postmaster.
