With Netscape 4.7x, I maintain an address book as Agents.na2. Each day,
Agents.na2 is copied to the proper place on several other computers
running Netscape 4.7x. This allows them to use the addresses without
being able to modify them and updates them each day.

Now, I want to install some other computers with Mozilla 1.x. The same
technique doesn't work. The Mozilla convert/import works great, but this
must be a background thing, every day, and the user is not even aware of
it. There is another file in the Mozilla directory, Agents.mab, that is
created when I perform an import. Subsequent overwritten copies of
Agents.na2 do not show the new data with the old Agents.mab present, and
it doesn't work at all if you delete Agents.mab.

Now, I could install an LDAP server but that's a lot of extra trouble
and doesn't offer the read-only protection that I have with my system.
Any ideas on getting Mozilla 1.x to accept a pushed "unimported" address
book?

Cheers!
Michael
