On 30 Jul 2002, it is alleged that Bruce Dubbs sauntered in to
netscape.public.mozilla.mail-news and loudly proclaimed:
> I've installed Mozilla on a new box in both Linux and WinNT. The WinNT
> system is fine, but I get an error when trying to send mail as a regular
> user with Linux. The message is "Unable to connect to SMTP server %S".
> I have no idea what %S means.
>
> Sending is fine when logged in as root. Receiving is fine all the way
> around. All systems are set up to send to the same server.
>
> Seems like a permissions problem, but I cant figure out where.
>
> I'm using Mozilla 1.1b [2002072204] but got the same behavior with 1.1a.
>
> I'd appreciate any clues or pointers that anyone can give.
