I can help U on this one.
Maybe there are too many mails in the folder. The Mail Client crashes in such a case.

Just go to Edit -- >  Mail & Newgroups Account Settings
Choose your Account.
Click on Server Settings.
On the right side, at the bottom, U will find a folder address.

Now, go to that folder.
You will find a file called: Trash. The Trash Mails are stored in text format in this file.
(In case there are lot of mails in Trash, the file size will be very large)

Open the file in a stable editor like Textpad or VC++/VB. (Not Notepad or GVim)
Now, delete all the contents.
Save.

Exit all Mozilla Applications.
Delete all the files from the Cache Directory ( TrashFolder\..\..\Cache ).
Start the Mail Client.
U will find the Trash Folder emptied.

A similar procedure can be followed to clear any other folder.
In case you plan to uninstall Mozilla, the complete directory can be backed up and restored for later use.
(Don't forget to delete the cache)

 :-)
Regards,
Prashant.

I have been using 6.2.3 quite a while, and find that I am now unable to
empty my trash folder.  Every time I go to File>Empty Trash, the program
crashes.  It also crashes if I go to my Trash Folder, highlight any
file, and hit Delete.  In addition, my Trash header shows there to be
one (1) Unread message, but when I look in the files, there is no unread
message there.  How do I correct this problem?

Thank you for any help.
