I don't think so.  It seems that making the mail/news look and work exactly 
like OE is the goal, and OE doesn't have the 'Message Center', so Moz. won't 
either.  I am another who hates to lose the screen space to something I need 
relatively infrequently.  Maybe they will do like 4.x and put in a dropdown 
list function for when the tree view is closed, but I am not holding my breath.
