Don't you have one spare computer, which you could use as a mail server?
It's probably not the answer you hoped for, but you could use IMAP as a 
protocol in your LAN and share the mail folder that way.
You could download the emails from your ISP with fetchmail and send them 
with sendmail or exim.
IMHO it's not too difficult to set up a linux box doing all that and you 
have lots of advantages.
