Now *that* makes sense - What you propose here is exactly how I'd like
to see a fix to 133525 behave. Was I a skilled enough code-jockey I'd
be taking a crack at finding the bug & dealing with it myself but I'm
not so I'm not :)

Just so long as an authentication failure inhibits any further use of
the same credentials on the same server until they are confirmed.
