On 08 Sep 2002, it is alleged that Donna Shore sauntered in to
netscape.public.mozilla.mail-news and loudly proclaimed:

Use the usual kludge, I guess. :-\

Set up an account for the news server (secnews.netscape.com), the go to Edit
| Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings | [news-account] | Server Settings and
tick the box that sez 'User secure connection (SSL)'; this will change the
port number to 563. You should then be able to subscribe w/o any problems.
