Wow.

Why does this bug still exist?

More importantly, what group of folks came up with this sacrosanct "spec" for the
titles of Mail-News windows?

It would seem logical to start the title of the multi-pane window with something more
general than the subject of the currently selected message/article seeing as how you
can instantly navigate from one message on server A to a different message on server B.

The "stand-alone" window, featuring only the text of a single message/article is much
more suited for such a window title. Different icons between the two is not the best
solution.

They should have different title beginnings.

Stand-alone:
<subject> - <product>

Multi-pane:
<account> - <subject> - <product>

or

<product> - <account> - <subject>

or even

<server> - <subject> - <product>

ANYTHING *NOT* starting with the subject. You get so much more information from the
multi-pane window, why conceal that fact by giving it such a restrictive title as the
subject of the message/article that happens to be highlighted at the moment?

And why was the last activity on this bug over 14 months ago (when it was re-opened)?
It seems clear the community doesn't feel this bug (not being able to differentiate
between the minimized multi-pane window and the minimized stand-alone window) matters
much (I guess none of them ever use the stand-alone view).

If someone could direct me to the relevant code, I'd be content to fix my own copy and
stfu.
