I saw this discussion on the Netscape 7 newsgroup and I have experienced
the same bug since Mozilla 0.9.8 (and maybe even before that; haven't
used older versions).

While in a newsgroup, pressing Get Msgs will download any new threads.
And if there are new threads, those will have the + expand sign next to
the message, even though no reply has been posted yet. Pressing the +
will make it a - (e.g. the thread is now expanded, but there are no
messages to expand).

My question is, what's the bug number for this? I'm sure a bug has been
filed a long time ago.
