Ok, I got some mail from Darin Fisher on this subject which convinced me
to report a bug. See http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=66940
for details.
To me, in the end it's a performance bug. And performance and stablity
is what mozilla needs to improve on. But as I said, if the cache system
is being rewritten soon it may not be worth dealing with this bug now.
