Hello,

I'm new to the mailing list so please excuse any inappropriateness.

Here's what I'm after:

I've discovered that version 0.5 of Mozilla Firebird provides a backdoor
past a particular surf control program in my network. This bug has been
fixed in release 0.6. I need to determine what the exact fix in the code
was. I'm sure the same existed in the full Mozilla build at one time, but
have not tracked down the revisions.

What would be your suggestions on how to most easily do this? I'm hoping
not to have to build a whole bunch of nightly builds to narrow down which
has the fix and which doesn't.

Thanks.
Kevin

you can find some nightly builds on ftp.mozilla.org. i would recommend starting there... although... they probably do not have many (or any) builds dating back between firebird 0.5 and 0.6. but, you should take a peek just in case ;)

fwiw, i hear that mozilla.org is looking into trying to provide an archive of older builds. not sure when that is scheduled to happen. this is something we had at netscape, and it sure made problems like this much easier to track down.

for now, i'm afraid you have to either build the snapshots yourself or dig through bonsai.mozilla.org (cvs checkin) logs.

good luck!
