Because the unloaded part of the image has uninitialized
data; filling every image with zeroes would hurt performance.
We should have a fix for that shortly (only draw the loaded
part of the image).

I don't know how much the debug code is hurting us, but
removing the console and the console output from retail
builds is something we need to do; we have been putting
that off because of the valuable information that can be
found in the console output.
