Can't reproduce it here. When I select sans-serif as default and set the
face for a paragraph to the nonexistent "SmudgyFax" font, that paragraph
displays in sans-serif.

This may be a windowmanager thing as I don't see it in xfce (I'll look
later in E/2). Both hand and <=> arrow come up at the right spot.

In both cases above, I tested all three skins.

No problems here with the Mach64. Platon's theory: "SVGA server may
generally crash for only one reason: Old and buggy shm.dll". Are you
using the newer one he attached to that post (2000/12/28) to the XF/2
list?
